Currently in Hospital

Just a short update.

Took a turn for the worse, lot’s of pain and fatigue, could hardly walk.

Thursday went to A&E and after 24 hours there was admitted to a ward for further care.

Feeling a lot better now and hopefully out in a day or two.

Internet access is poor and will write more once home.

  1. Hello Phillip, sorry to hear about the bad turn…did you make it home?

How are you feeling these days?

Here the autumn color change is almost over. I’ve winterized the boat and now wait for the lake ice to form and get thick enough to walk on safely. I guess that will be in 6 to 8 weeks.

My kids love fishing on the ice…it is fun with them. I hope to get out with them.

That’s about it on my end. Hope you are well.

    Sincerely, Steve from Minnesota USA

  2. Phillip, it’s sad to see you are not writing. I guess you still aren’t feeling great.

Here in Minnesota USA, we’ve set the clocks back an hour for the season. The kids will be going back to school during day hours, but the sun will be setting before 5 PM now. The leaves have mostly fallen off the trees, my apple tree is turning and I’m quite surprised that the leaves haven’t fallen yet.

Snow is in the forecast within the next 5 days. It will be the wet, heavy stuff…hopefully the temperature will be a few degrees warmer than forecast and the precipitation will come down in the form of rain rather than snow.

I’ve winterized the boat and just waiting for the lake ice to resume fishing again. But today the forecast is 65F., I guess that’s about 17 C., so I’ll take it as there is hardly any breeze. Today will be the last day I think we’ll see that temperature until March or April. I better get everything done around the yard that I’ve procrastinated about as the average temperature will only continue to decline until Mid-January. I guess we are lucky this year, I took my kids snow skiiing on Oct. 31st last year.

This year we were stricken with a pretty severe drought resulting in lower water levels on the lakes I fish. As a result, I unfortunately found a couple of rocks with the boat propeller, damaged it pretty good. I suppose the best thing to do is replace the prop as it is quite a bit out of balance now. I’ll keep it as a back-up spare in case I really destroy the new prop. I don’t have a clue on where to get a propeller balanced.

Well Phillip, I hope you are on the mend and look forward to hearing about your adventures. I want to tell you, your blogs really kept me motivated during a period of time where I was quite depressed. I found your blogs very inspiring for which I want to thank you. I hope to hear from you soon.

    Regards,
    Steve in Minnesota
